Our broadcast of Victory Words will soon begin with a study of the letter written by the apostle Paul to the church in Ephesus. Unlike other exegetical studies of this book, our stated goal and purpose revolves around the understanding of the message of Ephesians as it pertains to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy and the unfolding of the “eternal purpose” of God in the lives of those to whom it was originally written.
Some of the most important features of the book of Ephesians are those passages that reveal exactly what it is that God has given to believers “in Christ” that which constitutes the “spiritual blessings” and the “inheritance” that was at the very heart of God’s plan. The book of Ephesians is filled also with eternal principles that guide and direct the lives of every believer in Jesus Christ today.
The power of message of Ephesians was written during the very difficult days while Paul was in prison under the hardships imposed by the cruel Roman empire of the time. We find this book written during the time of Nero (A.D. 54-68), who brought persecution, death and destruction to Christians living at that time. It was just a few years before the Temple and the City of Jerusalem would be destroyed and God’s New Covenant would be manifested in all of its glory.
